our 4th of July

Seemed to be a regular day for us here as it fell on a sunday. Not living in utah right now... we knew that everything would be happening today but we weren't sure what we wanted to do!
So we went to church (kids did a festive art project in nursery which was cute)  came home and the kids took naps and I made some food for a BBQ we planned on having with some friends! We knew of some activities that were going on in a town nearby so we thought to maybe head there that night and then see the firework show at dusk!
called my mom for cheesy potato recipe... they turned out yummy! not sure they were as good but everyone liked them! James grilled some barbeque chicken and we had corn on the cob! My kids LOVED it. probably because it is fun to hold, but whatever gets them to eat, right!?
we met at the clubhouse to have our BBQ and let the kids swim after
i know...not so good...going on....
Kids had fun splashing around and playing with their friends! Parker has become our little fish out here! He totally loves the water now! Floaties are the BEST!

After, we ran back to our house, we got pajamas on the kids and headed to Zionsville to catch some fireworks! well when we got there, there was a million people and NO parking! we ended up going to these churches nearby to watch the show. It was pretty far away... so that wasn't too cool. We did see about 3 different shows going on so that was fun but it was pretty much a bummer show... but guess we can say we saw fireworks!! There are trees everywhere here, so they had to be pretty far up for us to see them! kids had fun staying up late anyways i guess.
Parker just kept asked to shoot off his own rockets... guess he remembers doing them last year at uncle Mike's house??? ha. It was funny, Abby and Adam kept pointed at them, and abby loved them when they'd go off! Thats all that matters right? If the kids have fun:)

first family picture that we've had in awhile... usually can't get everyone together!
of course one has to have his binky, it was late.
our good friends, THE HERRING FAMILY

We were a bit far away from the firework show, but the kids pointed at them, said WOW and also got distracted and just played. I think they had fun though. It was late as gets dark here after 10pm!

HAPPY 4TH!
