I'll admit, camping isn't my favorite thing to do... I'm not totally against it but i haven't alway been a fan. Maybe it is because i didn't grow up camping... we have a cabin and so we do "camp" but the whole sleep in tents, bugs everywhere, cool air and not liking being cold while I'm sleeping doesn't ever sound fun to me! James grew up camping with his family and always talks about taking our kids. i always say, okay one day. well that day came. i was excited about it as i saw the excitement of the kids they were stoked to go. the problem was, we pretty much decided to go the DAY we went. haha. i honestly didn't think it was going to happen. they had to reserve a campsite, round up tents for everyone and get food together i mean, come on guys do not think about these things!!! but i can say we did it. we might have left about 7pm and knew we still had to get up to get things set up and eat dinner etc but WE DID IT. we laughed about it all the way up. James and Dustin found a spot just up provo canyon and it was perfect. We had light for a little bit, thank goodness we brought flashlights and James' parents had a lantern because that helped a lot. We always have a good time with the Graham family:) things always work out, we didn't need days to plan a weekend. ha It would have been fun to get up earlier to play and let the kids run around more. but we were able to relax have diner around the fire and have fun chatting till really late!
I found out Parker Adam and Abigail love the outdoors, they love to adventure around, walk along the trials, roast smores around the fire, look for animals (pretty sure they were looking for bears ha) they like to play in the dirt, they love looking for the bugs and smashing them. abby had fun attacking the flies around the lantern with a spoon. ha good times. camping IS fun. i might even go again:) i guess things change when you are the parent and you see your kids having a great time:) It was so fun having everyone there. we missed Janel and her family but we will all have to make it an annual event and go whenever we can!
showing me his muscles...??
he did this all night. such a funny kid
killing bugs with spoons
our campsite:)
she LOVES her sleeping bag/ backpack
this would be Curt's tent.or coffin as he called it. pretty much the funniest part of the weekend.
he survived the bugs getting into his tent but it was an awesome tent ha
he was a good sport:)
hanging out in in dustin and jen's tent
my kids are obsessed with flashlights
abby had one in her hand ALL night. they are a pretty fun toy i guess. she makes me laugh
all 5 of us stayed in one tent! it was roomy and lots of fun. kids slept all night and wanted to play lots the next morning!
oh and did i mention the weather was beautiful???? it was a
perfect night. some of us were too hot in our tents. every thing about our trip was so fun.
thanks to everyone that came!!! it was my kind of camping!!!:)

I am not much of a camper either, but Steve has converted our kids. Shannon asked to go camping for her 5th birthday wish. Steve is taking the girls next weekend for our stake daddy daughter camp out. I am still not a great camper, but yes you endure the things you don't like when you see your kids enjoy it:-)
Oh my heck this makes me so jealous! Looks like a lot of fun! I am glad everyone was able to go. Haha. Curt's coffin...haha! We always have so much fun as a family don't we. I felt like I was having fun just reading about it all.
Love you guys! and yes we will make it an annual thing!!
