FRIDAY

Lisa and I decided to take the boys on an Easter egg hunt held at the Lion's Park put on by the "Relay For Life." We paid $3 a kid and well, it was a total flop! There were TONS of kids, with a very little search area, and VERY little candy. Lisa's little boy Conner ended up getting ONE egg while Parker didn't get any, NOT ONE! They were good sports Parker just continued looking for an egg but realized he wasn't going to find one! The saddest part was that there were several other kids in tears because they didn't find a egg... who goes to an egg hunt and leaves with NOT ONE! I think Lisa and I felt worse than they did, so we took them to Albertsons (yes we had a little grocery shopping to do) and they picked out a fruit-roll-up and a chocolate milk.

SATURDAY

We tried to hit up yet another egg hunt this time. It was scheduled at 10am and I'm not joking we got there at 10:03 and we saw people LEAVING!!! yes they scattered the park and there was NOTHING left! so we didn't have much luck there either, not one piece was left on the ground (at least i could see kids' bags were full and there was at LEAST candy at this egg hunt) Parker was a good sport again and we just let him know that we were going to have our OWN egg hunt at Nana's house! He was happy, so we left!

We than went to my moms house to watch Saturday conference. The twins took naps and than when the session was over we started filling the eggs for the hunt. Parker was wanting to help so we said, why not! He had fun filling them and he wanted to HIDE them! At first he started inside the house, but than the weather cleared up so we decided to take it outside! He had a lot of fun, we just laughed as he hide all the eggs and then was the only one 'really' old enough to find them! but it was fun for him.

 

When Kalei, Jake and Lyla got back we started to EGG HUNT! It was fun to see them all go run around, well mostly Parker and the Adults! the twins found their first egg and wanted to open it and EAT it! they were good with one. Abby got mad we kept trying to get her to pick up more! Adam ran around the yard, and Lyla is still young but she had fun holding her basket!

We all went out to dinner at Frontier Village before the MEN went to priesthood session. It was fun, the kids were good at the food was great! 

Later while the guys were gone (learning how to be better men... haha) us girls gave the kids a COUSIN bath TOGETHER!! They splashed and laughed and had a great time. Parker even put on a puppet show for them! After they had their pajamas on... MOM put curlers in Abigail's and Lyla"s!!! so cute! 

We decided to stay the night at my parents so we could all hang out more! It was fun as it always is to be with family!

SUNDAY

woke up to FRENCH TOAST breakfast by my DAD! Always yummy. 

Watched conference and just relaxed! After the kids took naps, my MOM made a great Easter dinner that we all got to enjoy together and then we .....

ROLLED OUR EGGS DOWN THE MOUNTAIN!

Yes this is a family tradition, i grew up thinking EVERYONE did this.. but nope!

It is FUN and you should try it!

I LOVE EASTER!!!

It was especially great this year as we were able to watch conference and hear the words of our Prophets. I leaned SO much. Wow there were some strong talks from our leaders! They are right on and I am now going to work hard on being a better mother, teaching my kids and going to try to have FAMILY HOME EVENING every week. there is lots more but I feel so blessed to be a part of this church and be reminded of this great work we are doing. 

I'm still trying to figure out how to help 1 AND 4 year olds understand the real meaning of Easter.
  They did pretty good at listening to the conference sessions, Parker was interested in this Wal-mart catalog and sat pretty quiet... it was funny. He did play a prophets BINGO game and that was fun for him as he would listen for the words called out during the speakers...... maybe next year.
