Finally...

parker is "old enough" to play soccer
old enough to play with kids his age
not just play in the backyard with dad and his awesome uncles
(he will continue to do so i'm sure)
but he has been so excited to play on a team against other kids
yeah.. you could say he could possibly have a little soccer blood in him... as his dad and every aunt/uncle on the graham side has played soccer at the college level...
but we weren't sure how competitive he would be!
he is our timid child, sensitive when kids are rough with him and i just wasn't sure how he would do.
sure he can kick the ball both left and right footed... and score goals in the backyard against himself
but put him out on the field with lots of boys... mom was a little worried:)

He sure surprised us!! He did AWESOME!! scored 5 goals his first game and scored a handful of goals each game! he is our little soccer star!!
i LOVED watching him play, you could just see it on his face that he loved playing and running out on the field. dad was sure proud of his boy:)  but it was sure fun going to the games. He had the cutest little team.. they were great boys and parker made some good friends. they were a young team and when they would play against the older taller kids they had to really work but our team pulled through! i'm pretty sure they were undefeated. i don't even know, ha. but we sure scored a lot and it is quite entertaining watching 4-5 year olds fight over the ball, knock each other over and see their own little victory dance as they ran back to their coach for a high 5! i think he will continue to love playing soccer.  i'm excited to be a "soccer mom" i sure didn't know anything about soccer before i met james, but it is an awesome sport and i look forward to the spring when he plays again. it is sad that the fall season is over. we all looked forward to going to his games twice a week. adam and abigail were his biggest fans, yelling GO PARKER throughout the whole game.  good job Parker, our little soccer star...

these pictures were taken right when he got him from buying his new soccer attire with dad
 shoe's/cleats/socks/ball/shin guards.
he was set.
FIRST GAME
parker is #9 on the yellow team
water break
cheerleaders on the sidelines... :)
GO PARKER GO

a little aggressive side came out of parker that we didn't know he had,
as he played more and more each game. good/bad i'm not sure but it was funny to see it.
he didn't like the other team to score. he would get into their goal and stop the ball before they got it in. (they don't have goalies, the players are the goalie. ha.)
his face was so intense throughout the game. he would get the ball and take it all the way down and score. so funny to watch him. loved the excitement on his face after he would score. pure joy!
as we were driving home after his first game he says to me, mom i LOOOOVE soccer. we are happy and excited for him to be involved and hopefully grow to love it as his dad and so many others do:)

another game
(didn't keep them in order very well...)

parker's fans...
mom and dad: his biggest fans of course
go parker!! haha

he had more fans but i didn't get pictures:( but he loved when family came to watch him.
we really appreciated you guys coming, it meant a lot to him and we always had a great time.
BT going down to score
little miss abigail. just happy to be twirling around on the field ha.

GO LEMON-BARS
yep that is our team name, don't mock it
haha. it was something to laugh about all season at least.
good game boys

last game of the season
Go Parks!!

him and BT rocked it, they lead our team to victory:)

fun while watching the games...
3 little soccer stars
cute little brielle
BT's little brother briggs. what a cute cupcake face ha
james and brian playing with all he kids

LOVED every second of his first season playing soccer (did have a minor meltdown on the field because he said his stomach hurt... pretty sure it was a side ache. poor kid.) but i am so proud of him.
yes i'm happy he liked soccer but from the time i wanted to sign him up i wanted him to get involved with something to boost his self confidence and get a little "tougher" as well. It was so great for him thanks to our friends for getting him on their team!
yeah... that is two months of him playing soccer in one post...
so lots of pictures... i'll get better at this blog one day...
i just kept snapping away, he looked so cute and grown up out there on the field!!! ha.
can't believe he is old enough to be involved with city leagues and play sports... i'm really in for it!!
until next spring.....
